According to the report, since clear aligners are less obvious than metal braces, patient compliance rates are higher, and they tend to be more willing to stay on the treatment longer.
The dental clinic explains that Invisalign treats dental crowding, overbites and underbites, misaligned teeth, gap teeth, open bites, and crooked teeth. Aside from being more discreet than metal braces, Invisalign corrects these problems in a shorter length of time. Clear aligners are usually worn for only 6-12 months, while traditional braces must be worn for up to 24 months to achieve optimal results.
In comparison to traditional braces, Invisalign is more comfortable to use and does not carry any risk of accidentally nicking the patient’s mouth. The trays are removable, making eating and dental hygiene more convenient for the patient. However, they must be in place for at least 20 hours per day and replaced with new ones every two to three weeks.
The dental clinic starts the process with a consultation and initial check-up, followed by the molding process, which can be done on the same day or at a separate appointment. The molding is done using digital scans, photographs, and x-rays to create an accurate model of the patient’s teeth. These scans will be sent to an Invisalign laboratory, where the trays will be created.
