With its expanded curriculum, Hope Rising offers educators an award-winning curriculum they can implement in one-hour blocks each week, or tailor to fit their classroom schedule. The lessons in “My Best Me” are not sequential, which allows teachers to organize them to match lessons in their main curriculum, or pair appropriate lessons with current or school events.

While emotional intelligence is not a subject traditionally taught in school, 93% of teachers say it is important. Emotional intelligence is the process individuals use to make responsible decisions, feel and express empathy for others, build healthy relationships, make and accomplish positive goals, and interpret and manage emotions. Schools that have implemented EI programs are reporting improved graduation rates, a larger number of students attaining secondary education, and a reduction in bullying and negative behavior.

Hope Rising’s “My Best Me” curriculum helps educators increase their students’ emotional intelligence by focusing on their identity and health, and their relationship to the community, the environment, and economics. As the program unfolds, educators work with their students to help them achieve a greater level of goal setting and design pathways to those goals. “My Best Me” also gives educators a structured method for teaching students how to be empathic and build and maintain strong relationships in and out of the classroom.
