San Diego New Off-Campus Student Apartments: Study & Living Interiors Announced

Scheduled to open in the fall of 2023, the new development will offer 2, 3, and 4-bedroom student apartments, as well as a variety of communal study and social spaces. The local design firm led the creation of a unique interior concept, which has been likened to a boutique cosmopolitan hotel.

In its most recent project, San Diego Office Design combined its experience across a range of sectors, including residential, hospitality, office, and retail. The resultant design places a focus on the ability for students to have private and individual spaces, while also allowing ample opportunity to connect and collaborate with classmates.

The traditional dorm concept no longer serves the needs of modern students. With a greater focus on student wellbeing and academic achievement, current trends emphasize the need for private and secure areas, while also allowing ample opportunity for collaboration and social activities.

With its new concept, San Diego Office Design sought to address each of those needs. Individual bedrooms allow privacy, while a simple and modern design offers students the ability to personalize their space. Communal areas include a mix of study and recreational areas, with the development’s signature sky lounge featuring views over SDSU.

“StateSide offers a California-style living environment that will help you elevate your lifestyle, foster lifelong connections and make the most of your college years,” a project representative explained. “When it’s time to focus, our indoor study room is open 24/7. When it’s time to unwind, residents will have access to our rooftop sky lounge and social space.”
